Privacy Statement

Overview

This website (“the Site”) is operated by BP-Genesis, LLC as BP-Knowledge, a service that creates custom textbooks for high school and college courses. The Site describes the service, shows sample material and lets instructors ask for a sample chapter. This statement explains what information the Site handles and what it does not.

Information we collect

The Site has no accounts, no comments and no payment features. The only way to give us personal information is the sample chapter request form described below.

Two kinds of technical information are also involved:

• Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and timestamps in order to deliver the Site and keep it secure. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
• Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark display, your choice is saved in your own browser’s local storage so the Site remembers it. It is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

The Site sets no cookies, shows no advertising and uses no analytics service. Fonts are served from the Site itself rather than from a third-party font service. If any of that changes, we will update this statement first.

Sample chapter requests

If you use the request form, we receive what you type into it: your name, email address, school or institution, course or subject, level and any notes you add. We use this only to reply to your request and to discuss the work you asked about. We do not add it to a mailing list.

When online requests are open, the form sends your details to us by email through an email delivery service (currently Resend), and the Site itself does not keep a copy. We keep the email we receive for as long as we need it to respond to you and to follow up on your request. While online requests are not open, the form says so and sends nothing.

How information is used

Information described above is used only to operate and secure the Site and to respond to requests you choose to send. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing.

Sample content

The samples on the Site are excerpts from the textbook Information Systems for Business. They contain no personal information about visitors, students or customers.

Other BP sites

BP-Knowledge is a project of BP-Genesis, LLC, which also operates other products on their own sites. Each handles information differently and has its own privacy statement. This statement does not cover them, or any other website you reach through a link, including the BP-Genesis, LLC site.

Service providers

The Site is hosted by Vercel Inc. When online requests are open, request emails are delivered through Resend. Each handles information on our behalf as described above, under its own terms and privacy policy.

Children

The Site is written for instructors and institutions. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and questions

If you sent a request and want it deleted, or you have any question about this statement, tell us through the request form once it is open, or through the contact details on the BP-Genesis, LLC site. The requests you send us are the only personal information we hold, so they are all there is to correct or delete.

Changes to this statement

We may update this statement from time to time. The effective date above shows when it last changed, and continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised statement.
